Admittedly, you have to search for a long time to find something special in the jumble of offers and novelties.
Finding these gems and adding them to our collection is our passion. We rummage through the world of recorders. Every day and always with great enthusiasm.
It was on one of these rummaging trips that we discovered and came to appreciate the F-alto recorder, model III by FEHR. H.C. FEHR is the forefather of recorder making workshops. Hans Conrad Fehr founded it in Switzerland and set new standards in recorder making with his extraordinary models. In the years that followed, many workshops modelled themselves on FEHR's models, but none of the copies were able to reproduce the unique sound and reassuring security of response. Dimensions can be copied - but not the attention to detail.
Over the years, the FEHR recorder models were repeatedly revised to meet the changing wishes and needs of musicians. Heinz Ammann has continued this tradition of model refinements for many years.
In their daily work on each individual instrument, FEHR intonateurs such as Michele Masucci, with their penchant for precision and attention to detail, have raised the art of serial recorder making to an unprecedented level. Even today, the instrument makers at FEHR carefully check which hand movements each individual instrument requires in order to fulfil the high demands and wishes of their customers.
The FEHR Model III has proven over decades that it is an extremely reliable companion. The price-performance ratio of this recorder is unique in this segment. Why not arrange a "listening date" with one of these instruments? We call this service "instruments on approval".
